Lee’s 2019 book, Southern Exposure: The Overlooked Architecture of Chicago’s South Side, was a constant companion and guidebook as Chicago Skyscrapers, 1934-1986 was coming together; it inspired a lot of long bike rides during the pandemic that led me to important high-rises that I would have missed otherwise.
